About the Author

Having lived in Sharm El Sheikh for more than twenty-five years, Tamer El Anna is considered to be one of the founders of this city. Through this book, he shares with you his insight and passion for his beloved Sinai. Tamer’s photography celebrates the magic of this unique place – as it was in ancient times, its sacred and holy landmarks and, indeed, its sheer natural beauty.

Tamer’s portfolio covers landscape and wildlife – from the desert to the mountains to the abundant and colorful marine life deep under the sea.

Exploring our planet’s last frontiers, the world deep beneath the waves; El Anna is one of the world’s top underwater photographers. He is recognized internationally, having received awards such as the Palme d’Or, Antibes Film Festival in 1997 for “Blue Heaven” and the world’s first prize Golden Fin Award at the French International Film Festival in 1998 for “Colours of Sinai”, not to mention television broadcasts on Disney Channel, Channel 4 (UK), NHK (Japan), Egypt Sat, ZDF and Pro7, to name but a few.

Having logged more than 11,000 dives and certified thousands of divers, photographers and videographers; El Anna has rightfully earned recognition as a qualified Master Instructor and respected international underwater photography judge.

Today, El Anna still resides in Sharm El Sheikh with his wife and two sons and continues to explore Sinai and its wonders.
